Parker is near the Utah border. It was a station with a post-office designation serving Pleasant Valley that was established January 13, 1910. With brief interruptions, the post office operated until April 1, 1929 when the name was changed to Uvada. Parker was named for Amasa L. Parker who came to Nevada in 1862. Parker drove stages for the Overland Mail Company from Salt Lake City to the Reese River until the railroads were built.
